SPRINGFIELD ARMORY ANNOUNCES XD-S MOD.2 PISTOL

SPRINGFIELD ARMORY ANNOUNCES XD-S MOD.2 PISTOL

Springfield Armory has upgraded one of its most popular concealed-carry models—the single stack XD-S in .45 ACP—with improved ergonomics and new sight configurations.

With the Springfield Armory XD-S Mod.2, shooters will notice a higher grip position closer to the bore axis, which should offer better control and softened recoil. In addition to enhanced grip texturing, a slim grip width (only .975”), a thinner slide and beavertail contribute to an improved comfort level while shooting the .45 ACP round. Longer Posi-Wedge serrations lend itself to easier slide manipulation.

Sight options are a fiber-optic font and Tactical Rack Serrated white-dot rear; Ameriglo’s Pro-Glo green tritium/luminescent with Tactical Rack serrated steel rear; or a red Viridian laser. An enhanced trigger with short reset rounds out the ergonomic improvements.

Safety features include a loaded chamber indicator and a grip safety, as well as a drop safety in the striker block.

The pistol boasts a slim, single-stack frame just 6.5” long and less than 5” high. The 3.3” barrel is Melonite-treated hammer-forged steel, with a 1:16” RH twist. Dual springs and a full-length guide rod help add a level of comfort while shooting the .45 loads in a subcompact pistol.

The XD-S Mod.2 ships with two stainless steel magazines: a flush-fitting 5-round mag, and one 6-round mag with Mid-Mag X-Tension. These magazines, unloaded and seated in the pistol, give the XD-S Mod.2 a weight of 21.5 ozs. and 22.5 ozs., respectively.

The pistol is offered in three configurations:

XDSG93345B   .45 ACP MOD.2 XD-S 3.3″ BLACK, FIBER OPTIC SIGHT  $568.00

XDSG93345BT  .45 ACP MOD.2 XD-S 3.3″ BLACK, TRITIUM NIGHT SIGHT  $618.00

XDSG93345BVR  .45 ACP MOD.2 XD-S 3.3″ BLACK, RED VIRIDIAN LASER  $598.00
